Now, technically, this article on the CBC website has nothing to do with gardening. It's about a rancher in the Okanagan who is feeding wine to her cattle to improve the quality and flavour of the beef that they will eventually become. I suppose there could be a gardening angle here. Maybe if I share my merlot with my tomatoes, the quality of my spaghetti sauce will improve. Or maybe I should just learn to cook.

I can't say I've ever been tempted to take my plants with me when I move to a new home. Well, I've been tempted, but I've never actually done it. If you're planning on moving your plants as well as yourself any time soon, this article in The Globe and Mail should prove useful.

I found this article about split rail fences in the Victoria Times Colonist and thought it was intriguing. I can't say that I've ever put much thought into how much work early settlers put into constructing these fences or why they were invented in the first place, but they're fascinating to look at especially when they are constructed by people with an artistic bent.
